It’s not easy to find a good used truck under $5,000. If you need a good set of wheels to get around and still have the ability to haul a load, we’ve got good news for you — we have plenty of truck options for you in this article. Decent trucks can be found for less than $5,000, as long as you’re not too picky. Ready to find your next truck? Check out our list below.

#1-1998-2003 Ford F-150

If you need a cheap truck that can last for years to come, a 1998-2003 Ford F-150 is your best bet. They’re plentiful, affordable, and built to withstand the wear and tear of daily driving. Many options are available in this price range, so finding a truck in good condition should be easy.

#2- 1998-2011 Ford Ranger

The Ford F-150 has been an excellent value for its owners since it was first introduced in the mid-1960s. The 1998-2003 model year trucks are no exception and are likely to offer more bang for your buck as the prices continue to drop. While the V8 option can be better from an MPG standpoint, the base 3.0L V6 engine has enough power for most people’s daily driving needs.

#3- 2002-2008 Dodge Ram 1500

The Dodge Ram 1500 is a full-size American pickup truck with a reputation for toughness. It gives you enough power to haul tons of stuff, and you’ll feel comfortable driving it on the highway or through rough terrain. The 2008 model was the last year for Hemi V8 engines in this series, so if you’re looking for a smooth ride that can also tow heavy loads, this is the truck for you.

#4- 2004-2012 Chevrolet Colorado

The Colorado wasn’t a hit with every customer, but it was one of Chevrolet’s best-selling vehicles for years. They’re solid, dependable, and available for under $5,000. They weren’t much to look at, and the inline 5-cylinder engine wasn’t a fan favorite, but these trucks have held their rank for more than a decade.

#5- 1999-2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Chevy fans rejoice! You’re in luck if you’re looking for a Silverado for less than $5,000. First- and second-generation Silverado 1500s are many at this price point. Single-cab trucks will be the most readily available; however, we’ve also found some extended-cab four-wheel-drive specimens.
